Two people destined for each other
How we start
James and Em’s story began in the most modern of ways — on Bumble. What started as a simple swipe soon turned into something truly special.
Seven Hours,
One Lifetime
After meeting online and chatting through messaging apps, they finally had their first video call about two weeks later. The connection was instant — the call lasted seven hours straight! It felt as if they had known each other in a previous life — two souls reconnecting across the world. At the time, James was in Southern California and Em was in the Philippines.
From Screen to Reality
After countless video calls, James decided to follow his heart and booked a flight to the Philippines just a month later. The moment they met in person, everything became real. What had started as digital chemistry became something undeniable. It was the beginning of a love they both knew was meant to last.
Miles, Memories, and Us
Over the next three years, James made several trips to visit Em. Each visit was filled with new adventures — from exploring the breathtaking beaches of Boracay to discovering the night markets of Taipei and wandering through the bustling streets of Hanoi over cups of incredible Vietnamese coffee. Yet, the most special moments were the simplest ones: being together side by side, even for a short while. Those memories became the foundation of their relationship — built on love, patience, and faith that distance could never break.
Under the Same Sky,
At Last
It wasn’t always easy. The long-distance nights and countless goodbyes tested their hearts. But through every challenge, they found strength in their love and comfort in knowing they were always under the same stars and sky.
After years of waiting, hoping, and praying, Em finally arrived in the U.S. on April 14, 2025 — turning their dream of being together every day into reality.
From Swipe to ‘I Do
What began with a simple swipe has led them to this moment — their wedding — a celebration of love that has endured distance, time, and every obstacle, proving that some connections are truly written in the stars.
